Rahul can take yatra to Italy, but not infiltrators: Shah
What's the story
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has hit back at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's allegations of "vote chori" in the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections. Speaking at a rally in Arwal, Shah said Gandhi was raising the issue because "names of infiltrators have been deleted from the voters' list." He added that Gandhi could take a yatra from Bihar to Italy, but the central government would not allow infiltrators to stay.
Election integrity
If vote chori, why no formal complaint to EC: Shah
Shah also questioned why Gandhi didn't file a formal complaint with the Election Commission if he believed there was "vote chori." He warned that if given even a little chance to CPI(ML) Liberation, which is part of the INDIA bloc, Bihar could again suffer from Left insurgency. The campaign for the final phase of the Bihar polls ends on Sunday, and voting will be held on Tuesday.
Infiltration allegations
Congress, RJD want to turn Bihar into infiltration corridor: Shah
Shah also accused the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of promoting illegal infiltration and ignoring Bihar's development. He compared their alleged agenda with that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, which he said aims to turn Bihar into an industrial corridor. "Congress and RJD want to turn Bihar into an infiltration corridor," Shah said at a rally in Sasaram.
Security pledge
Every illegal migrant will be thrown out: Shah
Reiterating the government's commitment to national security, Shah said every illegal migrant would be thrown out. He accused opposition leaders of being more interested in protecting Bangladeshi youth than India's own. Under Modi's leadership, Shah promised rapid industrial development for Bihar in the coming years. The second phase of voting for the Bihar Assembly elections will be held on November 11, with results due on November 14.
