Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Tejasvi Surya has gotten married to Tamil Nadu-based singer and Bharatanatyam artiste Sivasri Skandaprasad. The wedding was held on Thursday at a private resort on Kanakapura Road in Bengaluru. Close family members, friends, and dignitaries were present at the event.

Wedding ceremony followed traditional South Indian rituals

The couple's pre-wedding festivities began on Wednesday evening with the Varapooje ceremony. The wedding day was filled with traditional South Indian rituals like Kashi Yatra, Jeerige Bella Dhaare, Nirikshane Muhurta, Mangalya Dharane, and Laja Homa. Surya and Skandaprasad exchanged vows between 9:30am and 10:15am during the auspicious Tula Lagna period.

Reception plans

Post-wedding ceremonies and reception details unveiled

After the wedding, a Gruhapravesha ceremony will be conducted at the Bengaluru South MP's home in Girinagar to welcome the bride. The wedding reception will be held on Sunday at Gayatri Vihar in Palace Grounds, Bengaluru. The event will be held from 10:30am to 1:30pm and is likely to be attended by top political leaders, including Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, other ministers, and senior BJP leaders.
