26 e-commerce platforms, including Flipkart and Myntra, say they've ditched shady online tricks

Technology

Twenty-six major e-commerce platforms—think Flipkart, Myntra, Zomato, Swiggy, Meesho and more—recently announced they've cleaned up their sites to follow India's new anti-dark pattern rules.
After self-checks, they say they've removed all 13 banned tricks like sneaky "only a few left!" warnings or slipping extra items into your cart.

Why does this matter?

Dark patterns are those annoying design moves that push you into buying stuff or sharing info you didn't mean to.
Now, with stricter rules and a watchdog group ready to fine or delist violators (plus easy ways for users to report shady behavior), shopping online in India should feel a lot more transparent—and way less sketchy.
