Apple drops macOS Tahoe 26.2 with handy 'Edge Light'
Apple just rolled out macOS Tahoe 26.2, and the big new thing is Edge Light—a feature that turns your Mac screen into a virtual ring light for better video calls in low light.
You can tweak the width, brightness, and warmth of the light, and it works on all Apple silicon Macs.
Auto-on for newer Macs + more upgrades
If you've got a Mac from 2024 or later, Edge Light kicks in automatically when your Mac detects low light during video calls on apps like FaceTime and Zoom.
It also plays nicely with Studio Light, Portrait mode, and Voice Isolation.
The update brings some bonus tweaks to Reminders alarms, AirDrop codes, and Podcasts too—just grab it from System Settings.
Smarter lighting thanks to AI
Edge Light uses Apple's Neural Engine to find your face on camera while another chip checks your room's lighting.
Together, they adjust everything so you always look bright and clear—even if your room's a bit gloomy.
