Apple retires iPad mini 4 and 2017 MacBook Air support
Technology
Apple is saying goodbye to the iPad mini 4 (now "obsolete") and the 13-inch MacBook Air from 2017 ("vintage"), starting March 31, 2026.
This means no more official repairs or software updates for the iPad mini 4, and only limited repair options for that older MacBook Air: basically, if parts are left.
Owners may need 3rd-party repairs
If you're still using these devices, you might have to look at third-party repair shops to keep them running.
Apple's move is part of its usual cycle: as new models roll out, older ones get phased out so support can focus on the latest tech.
It's a good reminder to back up your stuff and keep an eye out if you're thinking about an upgrade!
