Apple says goodbye to iPhone SE, iPad Pro 12.9-inch, and more

Technology

Apple just marked five of its older devices as "obsolete," which means no more official repairs or parts from Apple stores.
On the list: the original iPhone SE, second-gen iPad Pro 12.9-inch, both Hermes and Nike versions of the Apple Watch Series 4, and the Beats Pill 2.0 speaker—effective December 1, 2025.

What does 'obsolete' actually mean?

If your device is on this list, it was discontinued over seven years ago and now loses all hardware support from Apple.
The original iPhone SE, known for its compact size and Touch ID, and that super-smooth-display iPad Pro are included here.

Quick look at these devices

The first-gen iPhone SE was famous for its compact size and fingerprint button.
The iPad Pro 12.9-inch (second generation) brought a fast 120Hz screen back in 2017.
Those special edition Series 4 Watches were among the first with ECG features—pretty cool for their time.

What about vintage devices?

"Vintage" means your device stopped selling five years ago but still gets limited repairs for up to two more years before going fully obsolete.
So if you have a standard Series 4 watch, you might still get some help—for now!
