Apple stops App Store transactions in Russia after sanctions fine
Starting April 2, 2026, Apple has stopped all App Store transactions and subscription renewals in Russia, including services like iCloud+ and Apple TV+.
This big move follows a fine against Apple's Ireland unit for breaking sanctions by processing payments to Russian developers.
In response, Apple has cut off payment processing for its services in Russia.
Russian users blocked from adding funds
Russian users cannot add funds to their Apple accounts anymore. Mobile billing (the last way to add funds) is now blocked. This affects subscriptions like Apple One and Apple Music.
If you are in Russia, your current subscriptions will keep running until your balance runs out or the billing cycle ends.
Local reports also hint that access to some digital services, including VPN apps, could be limited as part of these changes.
