Apple's new Apple Watches get a 3D-printed titanium upgrade

Technology

Apple just dropped the latest Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Series 11, both rocking a brand-new 3D-printed titanium case—a first for the company.
This switch isn't just about looks; it's designed to cut down on material waste and make the watches even tougher.

Sustainability in focus

By using aerospace-grade recycled titanium powder, Apple can now make two cases from what used to make one—cutting material use by half and aiming to save over 400 metric tons of titanium in 2025.
The process also boosts waterproofing and durability, and runs on renewable energy, all part of Apple's push for carbon neutrality by 2030.
Plus, this tech is making its way into other products like the iPhone Air's USB-C port.
