April offers easy naked eye views of Venus and Jupiter
Technology
Skywatchers, heads up. This month is perfect for spotting Venus and Jupiter with just your eyes (no telescope needed).
Look for Venus low in the west-northwest after sunset, shining bright for about two hours.
Jupiter will be high in the south-southwest at dusk, hanging out with Gemini's stars, Pollux and Castor, until past midnight.
Mercury Mars Saturn low before sunrise
Mercury, Mars, and Saturn are trickier. They're low in the east-southeast before sunrise. But Saturn gets easier to spot as April goes on.
For something special: on April 18, Venus will be close to a crescent moon; on April 23, it'll line up near the Pleiades cluster.
Grab binoculars for an even better view.
