Beaver supermoon to shine brightest on November 5
The biggest full moon of 2025, known as the Beaver Supermoon, will light up the sky on November 5.
This supermoon happens when the full moon is closest to Earth—making it look about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual.
It's also called the Frost Moon or Snow Moon.
How to best see the Beaver Supermoon
No telescope needed! Just step outside to a dark, open spot like a rooftop or park.
The moon will reach its brightest at 6:49pm IST and stay visible all night, weather permitting.
Even if you can't spot the extra brightness with your eyes, you'll still get an impressive view.
What is a supermoon?
A supermoon happens when a full moon lines up with its closest pass by Earth (perigee).
The Beaver Supermoon is actually the second of three supermoons this year—so if you miss it, there's one more chance in December!
