Chandigarh court orders Apple India to replace or repay ₹40,449
A Chandigarh court just told Apple India and its service partner to either replace a defective iPhone 12 or pay back ₹40,449.
The phone, bought in October 2021, had earphone issues, working fine with other devices but not with the iPhone.
After the owner reported the problem within warranty and got no help despite several follow-ups, the court stepped in.
Court orders ₹10,000 plus 6% interest
Apple tried to blame misuse, but the commission said there was no proof.
Infosolutions and Services didn't even contest or show they fixed anything.
The court called it poor service and ordered the opposite parties to comply within 60 days, plus pay ₹10,000 for harassment, and add 6% annual interest from July 2022 until payment.
This ruling is a reminder that companies need to take customer complaints seriously.
