China delays Chang'e-7 moon south pole launch to September
Technology
China's big plan to explore the moon's south pole is on pause, thanks to Tropical Depression Narra causing rough weather near the Hainan launch site.
The Chang'e-7 mission, which was supposed to take off by August 25, now won't launch until September.
Officials are still working out the new date.
Teams move rocket and spacecraft indoors
Chang'e-7 is all about searching for water ice near the moon's south pole, a key step if China wants to build a lunar research station someday.
Because timing is tight for landing in just the right spot, teams are moving the rocket and spacecraft back indoors for safety checks until skies clear up.
