Clarke Reynolds to run Brighton Marathon using Meta AI glasses
Technology
Clarke Reynolds, who has just 5% eyesight, is about to make history at the Brighton Marathon on April 12.
He will be the first blind runner to complete a marathon using Meta AI glasses, which connect him live to volunteers around the world through the Be My Eyes app for real-time navigation help.
Clarke Reynolds recruits over 100 volunteers
Reynolds is building a support squad of over 100 volunteers using Be My Eyes Groups, plus he will have a trained guide runner from The Richard Whitehead Foundation by his side.
Already known for running the London Marathon with assistance, he is now raising funds and showing how tech can open up new possibilities for visually impaired athletes.
