Gaganyaan's 1st uncrewed flight set for early 2026

Technology

India's gearing up for a big space milestone: the first uncrewed Gaganyaan mission is launching before March 2026.
Announced by Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh, who is also in charge of the Department of Space, this mission is a major step toward sending Indian astronauts into space for the very first time.

What else is ISRO planning?

ISRO isn't stopping with just one launch. By early 2026, they're aiming for seven launches, including satellites like Oceansat 3A and India's first joint satellite with Mauritius.
There are also commercial missions lined up—like launching BlueBird Block-2 for a US company—and tech demos to boost India's navigation and communication game in space.
Exciting times ahead!
