Google brings call recording to Pixel 6 and newer
Google is rolling out its built-in Call Recording feature to Pixel 6 and newer devices in all supported countries and regions.
No more third-party apps—just open your Phone app, hit record, and you're set.
The update started in September and will continue rolling out through the rest of 2025.
Legal and privacy-friendly
Everyone on the call gets a heads-up before recording starts, so no surprises.
Google says this approach keeps things legal and privacy-friendly while letting you save important convos when you need to.
How to record a call
During a call, just tap the record button in the Phone app—there's even a red icon so you know it's on.
You can let recordings auto-delete after 7, 14, or 30 days (or keep them forever).
There's also an option for auto-recording calls from unknown numbers or specific contacts.
Other improvements coming to Pixel devices
Google is also testing Call Notes with transcriptions and summaries in places like Australia, Canada, India, and Ireland.
Plus, Scam Detection and Call Screen are expanding with better language support for Indian users—all part of making your Pixel experience smoother.
