Google fixes Android Auto disconnection bug in 17.3 and 17.4
If your phone kept dropping out of Android Auto during drives, Google has just released updates to fix it.
The bug in version 17.2 made phones randomly disconnect from car screens, causing crashes, and messing up music and navigation.
Now, versions 17.3 and 17.4 patch things up so you can stay connected on the road.
Update Android Auto via Play Store
Google says the issue's sorted: just update Android Auto through the Play Store if you were affected.
A Google community specialist explained that audio would cut out and the interface would freeze before everything disconnected, which made driving pretty frustrating for a lot of people.
These updates focus purely on fixing connection issues; no new features this time, but earlier this year Google did roll out a fresh look, plus cool extras like Immersive View in Maps and a Speedometer for select Android Auto beta users.
