Google Gemini is ad-free (for now), says Google
Google just confirmed that its AI chatbot, Gemini, isn't showing any ads right now.
Dan Taylor from Google's Global Ads team called rumors about ads "uninformed" and "inaccurate."
This matches what OpenAI said about ChatGPT—no ads there either.
Both companies have stated there are currently no ads in their AI chatbots as the AI race heats up.
Ads might show up later—and here's why
While Gemini is ad-free at launch, Google isn't ruling out ads in the future since tech companies need ways to pay for big AI investments. Ads have always been a huge part of Google's business model.
Meanwhile, they've rolled out the new AI Plus Gemini plan in India at ₹399/month (with a special ₹199 offer for six months) to get more users on board without interrupting the experience with ads—at least for now.
