Google is selling USB sticks to install Chrome OS Flex
Technology
Google and Back Market are teaming up to release a $3 USB stick that lets you revive old computers with Chrome OS Flex.
Launching March 30, 2026, this tiny device is all about helping people get more life out of their aging laptops and desktops: no pricey upgrades needed.
Chrome OS Flex is a lightweight version of Chrome OS
Only 3,000 sticks will be available in the initial run, and Back Market says it is targeting sellers, buyers, schools, and small businesses.
Chrome OS Flex is a lightweight version of Chrome OS (just note, no Android apps) and works on older Windows PCs or pre-Apple Silicon Macs.
This low-cost solution is a great way to give new life to existing devices.
You'll be able to grab one on Back Market's website, and if there's demand, more could be on the way.
