Google Meet now lets you share your device audio in calls
Google Meet just got a handy upgrade: you can finally share your entire system audio—not just a single Chrome tab—while presenting.
The new "Also share system audio" toggle lives in the Present menu and is off by default, so you'll need to switch it on each time you want to use it.
What you'll need and when you'll get it
To use this, make sure you're on macOS 14.02 or newer, Windows 11 or newer, and Google Chrome 142+.
Mac users will see a one-time permission prompt.
If you're on a Rapid Release domain, the feature is already live; for others, it's rolling out from January 13, 2026 (with full rollout expected within 1-3 days for feature visibility).
Why this matters for your presentations
Sharing full system audio means smoother music, videos, and app audio—no more clunky workarounds or third-party tools.
Now Google Meet finally matches Zoom and Teams for multimedia sharing power, making multimedia presentations much easier.
