Google Messages gets 'Remix' feature for AI photo editing

Technology

Google just dropped a new "Remix" feature in its Messages app, making it super easy to edit photos with AI.
All you have to do is long-press a picture, tap Remix, and type what changes you want—like adding fun effects or custom figures.
It's part of the November 2025 Pixel Feature Drop and works on all Android devices.

Where you can try it (and what else to know)

Remix is rolling out now for RCS users in the US, UK, India, Australia, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand on Pixel 6 and newer phones.
You'll see a Gemini spark watermark on the remixed image. There's a daily limit on how many images you can remix for now.
This update builds on earlier features like Photomoji and Selfie GIFs—and Google says more countries will get access soon!
