Google's AI Mode can now book event tickets for you
What's the story
Google has expanded the capabilities of its AI Mode, a feature that lets users ask complex questions directly within Search. The new update allows users to book event tickets and beauty/wellness appointments through the AI. For instance, if you want tickets for an upcoming concert, just type "find me 2 cheap tickets for the Arijit Singh concert coming up. prefer standing floor tickets." The AI will scour multiple websites for real-time ticket options that fit your criteria.
User convenience
AI will present a curated list of prices
Once the AI finds suitable ticket options, it presents a curated list of prices for you to choose from. The best part? It even gives direct links to the booking page so that you can complete your purchase without any hassle. This new feature is available for all users who have opted into Google's experimental arm, Search Labs, in the US.
Evolution
Making dinner reservations was the 1st step
Google first introduced agentic capabilities to AI Mode in August, starting with restaurant reservations. The feature lets you make dinner reservations based on various criteria like party size, date, time, location, and cuisine type. Since its launch in March as a competitor to services like Perplexity AI and OpenAI's ChatGPT Search, Google has been expanding AI Mode's reach and features across over 180 countries.
