Haj 2026: Indian pilgrims will get smart wristbands

Technology

Heading to Haj in 2026?
All Indian pilgrims will receive free smart wristbands designed to make the journey safer and easier, especially for seniors who aren't into apps.
These bands come loaded with location tracking, an SOS button, step counter, Qibla compass, prayer times, plus basic health monitoring.

How it works & what's new for Haj 2026

Pilgrims will get hands-on training with the bands early in 2026 before heading out in late May.
The data syncs with the Haj Suvidha App so officials can keep an eye out for everyone's safety—super handy during a long trip.
Also new: men and women must stay in separate accommodations (even married couples must stay in separate rooms), and no gas cylinders are allowed for cooking—meals will be handled by official caterers.
