'High probability' we live in simulation, says Elon Musk
Elon Musk thinks there's a good chance we're all living inside a giant simulation, not actual reality.
On the Joe Rogan podcast, he pointed to how video games have evolved from simple 2D screens to ultra-realistic 3D worlds in just a few decades.
Why Musk believes we're probably simulated
Musk explained that if tech keeps advancing, games could soon look and feel exactly like real life.
As he put it: "If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then games will be indistinguishable from reality or civilization will end."
So, since we exist, he figures it's most likely we're part of some advanced simulation.
The theory behind Musk's claim
This idea matches philosopher Nick Bostrom's "simulation hypothesis," which says if future civilizations can run super-realistic simulations, odds are high that our world is one of them—not the original.
Musk even said the chance we live in base reality is "one in billions."
Musk and controversy
Musk isn't new to bold opinions—his outspoken takes regularly spark debate online and beyond.
