Honor View 20 to be priced around Rs. 40,000: Report

Honor View 20, set to launch in India on January 29, is expected to be priced competitively. Citing industry sources, news agency IANS claims that the flagship phone will be priced at around Rs. 40,000. Notably, the Honor View 20 was recently released as Honor V20 in China and will be unveiled globally on January 22 in Paris. Here's more.

Pre-book
Honor View 20 pre-orders live, free Bluetooth headphones on offer

Honor India e-store is currently accepting pre-orders for the Honor View 20 against a Rs. 1,000 coupon. Notably, those who pre-book the device will get a pair of Honor Bluetooth earphones worth Rs. 2,999 for free. Similarly, Amazon will start accepting pre-orders from January 15 onwards against a Rs. 1,000 gift card. The free earphones offer will also be available to all users.

Design and display
Honor View 20: At a glance

Up front, the Honor View 20 sports an in-screen selfie camera to offer a bezel-less 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080x2310 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The camera cut-out, measuring just 4.5mm, is significantly smaller than Galaxy A8s' 6.7mm hole. Further, the glass-like rear panel flaunts a glossy gradient finish and houses a horizontally-stacked dual rear-camera setup as well as the good old fingerprint scanner.

Un-pixelated

The Honor View 20 sports a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) Sony IMX586 sensor, paired with a 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to capture the depth details. The main camera comes with 4-in-1 pixel binning technology, AI HDR and supports slow-motion video recording at 960fps. Up front, the phone packs a 25MP selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus support.

Internals
Under the hood

The phone is powered by the 7nm octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor, coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of non-expandable internal storage. It runs Android Pie-based Magic UI 2.0.1 out-of-the-box and packs a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support. Further, Honor View 20 comes with performance-boosting GPU Turbo 2.0 technology and Link Turbo which intelligently combines Wi-Fi and LTE connections for faster downloads.

Nitty-gritty
Connectivity options and sensors onboard Honor View 20

In terms of connectivity options, the phone gets support for dual SIMs (Nano), Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), GPS/A-GPS, and USB Type-C port. Honor is touting an AI-based dual-band GPS technology which aims to provide more accurate positioning. Lastly, sensors onboard the Honor View 20 include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.

Key details
Pricing and availability

In China, the Honor View 20 is priced at CNY 2,999 (Rs. 30,400) for the 6GB/128GB model and CNY 3,499 (Rs. 35,500) for the 8GB/128GB option. There is also a Moschino Edition which comes in 8GB/256GB configuration. In India, the phone will launch on January 29 and will be available exclusively via Amazon and Honor India e-store at an expected price of Rs. 40,000.
