IIT Delhi grad Shaivee Malik cofounded battery truck refrigeration startup
Shaivee Malik, an IIT Delhi biotech grad, co-founded Yotuh Energy to tackle India's massive food wastage from poor cold storage.
Their battery-powered refrigeration system fits on transport trucks, runs for 6 to 8 hours per charge without needing the engine, and slashes refrigeration costs by 75%, making it way greener and more efficient.
Yotuh Energy raised 1.53cr funding
Launched in 2022 with family support and now incubated at IIT Madras, Yotuh Energy has raised ₹1.53 crore and attracted paying customers, including distributors associated with Amul ice cream and McCain frozen foods.
The tech even works during truck breakdowns because it operates independently of the truck engine, and door sensors adjust cooling when doors are opened, helping save up to 36 metric tons of CO2 per unit each year, giving India's cold-chain logistics a much-needed upgrade.
