Indian astronaut develops brain-computer interface in space

Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is on the ISS, working on brain-computer interfaces that could let astronauts control devices just by thinking.
This is India's first human space mission in over 40 years and a big step toward ISRO's crewed Gaganyaan project.

TL;DR

Shukla and Uznanski-Wisniewski are running the PhotonGrav experiment

Shukla and fellow astronaut Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski are running the PhotonGrav experiment with a special headset that uses light to read brain activity.
They're figuring out if thoughts can turn into computer commands in zero gravity, checking for errors from weightlessness, and making sure the system feels comfortable to use.

Shukla is also leading 7 more Indian experiments

Alongside this, Shukla is leading seven more Indian experiments—like studying muscle loss in space.
His work could help launch India's private space industry through global partnerships, opening up cool new opportunities for young innovators back home.
