Indian consumers trust AI with personal data: Study
A new Okta and Statista survey shows Indians are much more likely than people elsewhere to share personal info with AI—64% share health data and 49% share financial details, both about double the global average.
Many online accounts, high fraud worries
Over 30% of Indian respondents use 10+ online accounts monthly.
Even though they're active online, 81% worry about identity fraud (much higher than the global average).
So, it's not blind trust—they know the risks.
Trust in companies managing data is high
Despite concerns, 67% of Indians actually trust companies managing their data—especially banks (79%) and tech firms (73%), which is well above global trust levels.
Daily AI tool use, preference for human interaction
India tops the charts for daily AI tool use (41%).
Most appreciate how fast AI is, but 76% still prefer talking to a real person and worry about digital identity risks.
Biometric logins like fingerprints (55%) and Face ID (35%) are also getting popular.
