The AI framework, called ACSCeND, uses deep learning to find three types of stubborn cancer stem-like cells in tumor samples, helping doctors predict which patients might need different therapies.
Meanwhile, the new drug RK-251 kicks in only when it senses high levels of stress chemicals found in malignant cells.
Early tests showed it targets breast cancer growth with minimal harm to healthy cells, which could mean fewer side effects for patients down the road.
