Jack Dorsey and Roelof Botha propose AI replacing middle managers
Technology
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and Sequoia Capital partner Roelof Botha are pitching a bold idea: let artificial intelligence, or AI, handle the jobs usually done by middle managers, like organizing teams and keeping everyone in the loop.
This comes as Block (Dorsey's company) is cutting nearly half its staff, hoping AI can make things run smoother and faster.
Block outlines 3 AI roles
Block plans to switch things up with three roles: individual contributors who use AI for quick decisions, directly responsible individuals who tackle bigger problems with help from AI, and player-coaches who both build products and manage people.
Dorsey believes this could make companies more flexible and efficient, especially when times are tough.
