Markus Lundh pilots full-size Lego Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear 111km/h
A full-size Lego version of the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear just smashed the speed record for Lego Technic cars, hitting 111km/h at England's Goodwood hillclimb.
Koenigsegg's official test driver Markus Lundh was behind the wheel. He is also the guy who set the real car's record, so it is pretty cool to see him do it again with a Lego build.
Lego car weighs nearly 2 tons
This massive Lego car weighs nearly two tons and easily beat the old record of 50km/h set by a Lego McLaren P1.
It was unveiled as part of Lego's launch for its new Technic hypercar set.
The team spent over 9,400 hours assembling 327,906 Lego elements, and packed in working features like "Ghost Mode," which simultaneously opens the doors, hood, and mirrors at the touch of a button.
Sadair's spear kit includes 4,104 pieces
If you are into building, the new 1:8-scale Sadair's Spear kit comes with 4,104 pieces, including a piston V8 engine and nine-speed gearbox, and goes on early access July 1 for €449.99 (about $515).
Buy between July 1 and July 6, and you will get a free 228-piece Sadair's Spear steering wheel model while supplies last.
