NASA launches Artemis II, 1st crewed lunar mission since 1972
Technology
NASA just launched Artemis II, the first mission sending astronauts toward the moon since 1972.
Four crew members will spend 10 days in space, testing out systems for future lunar missions.
While they won't land this time, Artemis II is set to travel farther into space than any human mission before.
Track Artemis II in real time
Curious where the crew is right now? You can track their real-time location, speed, and mission updates on NASA's Artemis Real-time Orbit website (AROW).
The spacecraft swings closest to the moon on April 6 (NASA's way of letting everyone join in on this next giant leap).
