    What's the story

While Nothing is establishing its name in India's mid-range smartphone market with its debut handset, the Phone (1), OnePlus has already shifted its focus to that segment with the recently launched Nord 2T.

Both the phones look promising, but which one should you buy?

Here's our comparison of these newest smartphones that aim to deliver a flagship-level experience under the Rs. 40,000 price point.

    Design

    Which one has better looks?

    The Nothing Phone (1) and OnePlus Nord 2T bear a left-aligned punch-hole cut-out.

The former boasts a unique transparent design on the back with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and LEDs that glow in sync with notification sounds. It comes in Black and White shades.

The latter gets a plastic rear panel. It is offered in Gray Shadow and Jade Fog colors.

    Display

The Nothing Phone (1) features a 120Hz OLED display

The Nothing Phone (1) has an IP53-rated build. It boasts a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 1,200-nits of peak brightness.

The OnePlus Nord 2T offers a 6.43-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.

Both the devices are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the display.

    Cameras

Both the devices have a 50MP primary camera

    The Nothing Phone (1)'s rear camera setup includes a 50MP (f/1.88, OIS) primary snapper and a 50MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor. For selfies, it houses a 16MP (f/2.25) front-facing camera.

The OnePlus Nord 2T's rear camera arrangement comprises a 50MP (f/1.9, OIS) main shooter, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP (f/2.2) monochrome snapper. Up front, it gets a 32MP (f/2.4) selfie snapper.

    Internals

    The Nord 2T supports 80W fast-charging

The Nothing Phone (1) and OnePlus Nord 2T draw fuel from a Snapdragon 778G+ and MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC, respectively.

The handsets come with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.

The Phone (1) houses a 4,500mAh battery with 33W wired, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging. The Nord 2T packs a 4,500mAh battery with 80W wired fast-charging.

    Information

What is the cost of these smartphones?

The Nothing Phone (1) comes in 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB configurations that are priced at Rs. 32,999, Rs. 35,999 and Rs. 38,999, respectively. The OnePlus Nord 2T's base 8GB/128GB variant is retailing at Rs. 28,999 and the 12GB/256GB model can be purchased at Rs. 33,999.

    Conclusion

Nothing Phone (1) v/s OnePlus Nord 2T: Verdict

In comparison to Nothing Phone (1), the OnePlus Nord 2T is a better deal as you get similar performance and hardware at a cheaper price.

However, if you can stretch your budget a little, go for the Nothing Phone (1). It has a unique design, superior ultra-wide camera, a better display, more premium in-hand feel, and wireless as well as reverse wireless charging support.
