OpenAI drops GPT-5.2: new AI, more power
OpenAI just launched GPT-5.2, its latest AI model aimed at making work and creative tasks smoother and smarter.
Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, says it's all about "unlocking even more economic value for people," and OpenAI is positioning it as a strong competitor to models like Gemini 3.
What's inside GPT-5.2—and a Disney collab
The new lineup includes Instant, Thinking, and Pro models—each designed to help with things like spreadsheets, presentations, and big projects. The Thinking model especially tries to cut down on those annoying AI mistakes ("hallucinations").
Plus, OpenAI just teamed up with Disney for a three-year deal letting users create social videos with Marvel, Pixar, or Star Wars characters—these will stream right on Disney Plus.
And heads up: there's an age-prediction tool coming soon for safer content before ChatGPT's "adult mode" lands in 2026.
