    Xiaomi Redmi 8A now available via open sale in India

    Xiaomi's budget-friendly Redmi 8A, which was so far available via flash sales only, can now be purchased anytime in India. The budget-friendly handset has gone on open sale and is up for grabs via Flipkart, Mi.com, as well as Mi Home Stores. The smartphone comes with a waterdrop notched display, splash resistant design, a 5,000mAh battery, and entry-level internals. Here's our roundup.

    First, a look at the pricing and offers

    As for the pricing, the Redmi 8A costs Rs. 6,499 for the 2GB/32GB variant and Rs. 6,999 for the 3GB/32GB model. Further, buyers can avail 5% discount on payments using Flipkart Axis Bank credit card, 10% discount using Axis Bank Buzz credit card, and upto Rs. 6,950 off as part of the smartphone exchange offer.

    Now, here's recalling Redmi 8A

    As far as its specifications are concerned, the Redmi 8A sports a waterdrop notched design with a noticeable bottom bezel. On the rear, the polycarbonate panel houses a single camera and LED flash. It offers a 6.22-inch LCD display with an HD+ (720x1520 pixels) resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Moreover, it is available in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, and Sunset Red color options.

    For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    In the camera department, the Redmi 8A houses a 12MP (f/1.8) main sensor and an 8MP (f/2.0) front-facing snapper for selfies, video calling, and face unlock. The main camera, accompanied by an LED flash, supports photography features such as HDR, AI Portrait Mode, and AI Scene Detection. It can also record 1080p videos at 30fps.

    Finally, what about internals?

    The Redmi 8A is powered by a Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor, paired with upto 3GB RAM, and 32GB storage. It runs Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support (comes bundled with 10W charger in the box). Furthermore, the phone offers all latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), Wi-Fi, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
