Reliance to build 120 MW Jamnagar AI hub for India
Reliance is setting up a massive AI hub in Jamnagar, aiming to create India's own sovereign AI backbone.
The first phase of the facility, comprising 120 MW of capacity, will be commissioned by the end of 2026, and should be up and running by the end of this year.
Jio Chairman Akash Ambani shared that this project is all about making advanced AI more accessible across the country.
NVIDIA GPUs to power Jamnagar hub
This new hub will use NVIDIA's latest GPUs (think power equivalent to more than 75,000 H100 GPUs on an AI inference basis) with room to scale way up.
Reliance is teaming up with Google and Meta: Jio users get free access to Google AI Pro (powered by Gemini), while Meta's Llama models are coming for Indian businesses.
Plus, Reliance just unveiled a bunch of new AI tools like Jio AI Assistant and JioHealth IQ, supporting 22 Indian languages, so more people can join in.
