Samsung Galaxy S11 v/s S10: Should you buy S11?
Samsung is working to launch the Galaxy S11-series as a follow up to its Galaxy S10 flagship smartphones. Over the past couple of weeks, several credible leaks and high-quality renders of the S11 have surfaced on the internet, giving us a fair idea of what to expect from the upcoming premium handset and what's likely to change in comparison to the S10.
Samsung Galaxy S11 v/s Galaxy S10: At a glance
According to renders, the S11 will sport a Note 10-like center-aligned punch-hole design with a metal-glass sandwiched body, curved screen edges, and slimmer bezels. This design will allow for an increased screen-to-body ratio, more than S10's. On the rear, the S11 will sport an L-shaped penta-camera unit that will be mounted on the top-left corner as against a horizontal triple-lens arrangement on its predecessor.
All about the screen
The S11 is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with curved edges. However, the curvature of the display may be slightly lesser than what we saw on the S10. The display is also likely to support a 120Hz refresh rate and offer QHD+ resolution with HDR10+ certification and an integrated fingerprint sensor. In comparison, the S10 bears a 60Hz 6.1-inch QHD+ screen.
The S11 will offer a powerful camera setup
The camera on the S10 is good but it lags behind the iPhone 11 Pro and Huawei Mate 30 Pro. However, Samsung is primed to change the equation with S11. The upcoming flagship is said to house a penta-lens camera module comprising a custom-made 108MP main sensor, an ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5x telephoto lens, a dedicated macro camera, and a ToF 3D sensor.
Newer flagship chipset, bigger battery, and 5G support
As a sequel to the S10, the S11 will evidently boast of a better performance. The phone will pack the latest top-tier Snapdragon 865/Exynos 990 chipset and run Android 10-based One UI 2.0 out-of-the-box. Further, the Galaxy S11 will pack a 4,500mAh - a massive upgrade compared to S10's (3,400mAh). Lastly, the upcoming handset will be offered in both 5G and LTE variants.
When will Galaxy S11 launch?
According to leaks, Samsung will follow the traditional launch cycle for its S11 series, and we can see the new handsets sometime around mid-February. To recall, the Galaxy S10 series was announced on February 20.
