Snapchat just dropped "Topic Chats," a new way to jump into public conversations about trending topics and shared interests.
It's all about connecting with more people, but your profile still stays private from anyone who's not on your friends list.

How it works and where you'll find it

You can chat about things like Formula 1 or Below Deck, and even discover related short videos through Spotlight.
Messages are moderated by LLM technology and other safety measures to keep things safe, and you can report anything sketchy.
Right now, Topic Chats are live in Canada, New Zealand, and the US, and you'll spot them in Chat shortcuts, search results, Stories, or while scrolling Spotlight.
