Spotify adds lyric translations, offline access to its music app
Spotify is rolling out a major update to its lyrics feature—lyric translations are now rolling out worldwide, plus you can view them even when you're offline.
Lyric translations and lyric previews are available to Free and Premium users, across iOS and Android, while offline lyrics are rolling out only to Premium subscribers.
You'll also spot lyric previews right under album art in Now Playing.
How to access the new lyrics experience
Just tap the translate icon on supported tracks to see lyrics in your device's language alongside the original lines.
Lyric previews show up automatically but can be toggled off if you want.
The global rollout starts now.
Apple Music brought similar features in 2025
Apple Music brought out lyric translations in September 2025 and offline access in December 2025.
While both platforms now offer similar tools, Spotify is putting extra focus on making lyric previews more visible and user-friendly.
This update builds on Spotify's lyric translations launched in 2022—so if you love singing along or learning languages through music, things just got even easier.
