Students launch 3 satellites in India 1st
KL Deemed to be University in Andhra Pradesh just pulled off something big—students designed and launched three satellites on October 18, 2025.
This hands-on project is all about pushing innovation and supporting India's Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) goals.
Each satellite has its own unique purpose
The team built KLSAT-2 (packed with sensors for space data), KLJAC (an ultra-lightweight pico balloon satellite for atmospheric and telemetry research), and CanSat (a mini-satellite chosen for a national competition, showing off data transmission skills).
Each one put real engineering skills to the test.
The launch got a lot of official attention
Union Minister Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma and Assembly Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju showed up for the launch, spotlighting how important student-led research is for India's future in space tech.
The university hopes this inspires even more young innovators to reach for the stars.
