Syngenta, IIT Ropar and Annam.ai bring AI to Indian agriculture
Syngenta has joined forces with IIT Ropar and Annam.ai to bring artificial intelligence into Indian agriculture.
Their goal? To help farmers tackle real challenges like crop risks and sustainable practices using smart tech.
To kick things off, they hosted HACKCORE 2026, a three-day hackathon where innovators brainstormed AI solutions for the field.
SeedCoders's AgroVani AI wins HACKCORE 2026
Out of 2,800 participants, Team SeedCoders took the top spot with AgroVani AI, a tool that helps farmers earn from crop residue, get product tips, and chat with an AI assistant called AgroSaathi.
As a bonus, the team gets to visit the Syngenta Biologicals site in Atessa, Italy.
As Syngenta Group's Group Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Digital Officer, Feroz Sheikh, put it, "We created the platform to bring together the young innovators, researchers, and technology experts to work on genuine agricultural challenges."
