WhatsApp is working on view-once text messages for iPhone users
Technology
WhatsApp is working on a new feature for iPhone users that lets you send text messages that vanish after being read once, just like view-once photos and videos.
It's still in development, so you won't see it in your app yet, but it's designed to give your chats an extra layer of privacy.
WhatsApp view-once texts cannot be saved
Once rolled out, you'll be able to send a view-once text by long-pressing the send button and choosing "Send as view once."
The message disappears after one read in both group and individual chats (but not channels).
The update is all about keeping your private moments more secure: recipients won't be able to save, forward, or screenshot these texts.
