Australia tour of India to kick off on 17 Sep

As confirmed by ESPNCricinfo, Australian cricket team will begin their limited-overs series tour of India on 17 September. The first of five ODI series will be played in Chennai, followed by matches in Kolkata on 21 September, Indore on 24 September, Bangalore on 28 September, and Nagpur on 1 October. This will be followed by three T20I match series, which concludes the tour.

India to play 23 international home matches from Sep-Dec

Between September-December 2017, India is set to host 23 international matches. The home season kicks off with a 5-ODI, 3-T20I, series against Australia, followed by 3-ODI, 3-T20I series against New Zealand. In the end India will host Sri Lanka for 3 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20Is. Two new venues, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram are set to play host, subject to ICC clearance.

    T20I fixtures

The 3-match T20I series between India and Australia will be played in Ranchi on 7 October, Guwahati on 10 October, and Hyderabad on 13 October.

India goes into the series with an edge at home

Going into the series against Australia, the Indian side will be brimming with confidence especially at the back of a 5-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka in ODI series. Further at home, India has an edge over the Aussies having beaten them 2-1 in the four-match Test series earlier this year. India also beat them 3-2 in the last ODI series we hosted in 2013-14.

Australia won the last ODI series between the two

In the last ODI series between India and Australia, the men in blue toured Australia in Jan 2016. Steve Smith & Co. won the series 4-1.
