What's the story

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a major revision in the payment structure for women domestic cricketers. The board has decided to bring their match fees on par with their male counterparts in domestic cricket. Under the new pay structure, each player from the Playing XI will now receive ₹50,000 per day for every domestic one-day and multi-day game they feature in. Notably, the BCCI's Apex Council approved the decision on Monday.

Revised payment structure

The revised payment structure also includes a fee of ₹25,000 per match for non-playing members. For T20 games, the fee is ₹25,000 for the Playing XI and ₹12,500 for reserves. Earlier, senior women players in the Playing XI were paid ₹20,000 per match while those on the bench got ₹10,000.

The 2025 ICC WODI World Cup has brought huge rewards for Indian women cricketers, with the BCCI set to revise the payment system. The proposed system will give a whopping 150% pay hike to domestic players. Under the new structure, the senior women's domestic players in the playing XI will receive ₹50,000 per day, while reserves will get ₹25,000. This is a jump from the current structure of ₹20,000 and ₹10,000, respectively.
