#GamingBytes: A thorough comparison- PUBG vs CoD vs Apex Legends
Battle Royale titles are all the rage nowadays and it is highly unlikely that you haven't heard of games like PUBG, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty. The games are all about the adrenaline rush you get by emerging as the sole winner amongst other real players. To help you choose the ideal game, here's a comparison between three super popular Battle Royale games.
PUBG released in 2017 and has single-handedly popularized the Battle Royale genre in countries like India. It has more than 400 million players across platforms. Apex Legends is quite new (released in 2019) and has amassed 50 million players. It doesn't have a mobile version as of now. CoD is a classic with millions of player and has recently released its mobile version.
CoD is not essentially a Battle Royale title and has many modes including multiplayer and deathmatch. The other two are pure Battle Royale titles where 100 players compete against each other with weapons and loot with only one emerging as the winner. Apex Legends adds to this 8 'legends' to choose from, each having distinct abilities for Offense, Defense, Support and Recon.
PUBG and Call of Duty are war-like and realistic. In comparison, the FPS-only Battle Royale Apex Legends feels more video-gamey with a futuristic vibe. All three have their own ranking system and a community of players. The games are constantly updated; and new weapons and vehicles are constantly added. Out of the three, Apex Legends is the only one available for free across platforms.
PUBG has several maps based on themes like desert and forest and periodically keeps on adding new maps. The maps in CoD and Apex Legends have different terrains that make the gameplay interesting. The games have similar weapons in the form of melee weapons, grenades, and guns that include assault rifles, SMGs, Shotguns, Pistols, that have different damage, reload time, and other characteristics.
PUBG: If you are an avid Battle Royale fan who likes his games realistic and loves to strategize. CoD: If you want a classic game and have been a long time fan of the series. Call of Duty also has multiple modes other than Battle Royale. Apex Legends: If you love FPS shooters and want your characters to have distinct personalities and powers.
