Starc handed Australia a perfect start in the first Test of The Ashes series against England in Perth.
He dismissed England opener Zak Crawley on the last ball of the very first over, sending the Australian crowd into a frenzy.
He further claimed six more wickets, and with his third scalp, Starc became the first left-arm pacer to complete 100 wickets in Ashes history.

In July 2025, Starc became the fastest bowler to take a five-wicket haul in Test cricket, having claimed 6/9 versus West Indies in the fourth innings of the third match (D/N) at Kingston, Jamaica.
He recorded the milestone within just 15 balls in the fourth innings as the Windies perished for just 27 runs.
Starc picked three wickets itself in the opening over.
He then reached 400 scalps with his fourth of the day. He dismissed Shai Hope and Jayden Seales next.
