"See the ball, hit the ball"—that's the motto Pakistani cricketer Fakhar Zaman lives by. And it has worked well for him so far. He is the fastest player to reach 1,000 runs in ODIs, the first Pakistan player to score a double-century in ODIs, the highest individual scorer in ODIs while chasing (193), and the man of the match in the 2017 Champions Trophy final. Achieving all this in an international career that's only four years old, Zaman has declared himself as the poster boy of Pakistani cricket. He began his career by representing the Pakistan Navy. In 2013, he left the Navy and made his first-class debut for Karachi Blues the same year. He spent a few years in the domestic circuit without being noticed despite scoring a lot of runs. He averaged 42 runs in first-class and 49 runs in List A cricket. He first came into the limelight after his impressive performances in the 2016-17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. His performances in the domestic circuit finally earned him a national team call-up. He played his first international match in a T20I against West Indies in 2017. His ODI debut was against South Africa in the 2017 Champions Trophy. Zaman often chips in as a part-time spinner as well.
