Zverev and Djokovic knocked out of French Open

In one of biggest upsets of the 2018 French Open, Novak Djokovic was ousted by a relatively unknown player while Zverev's tournament was cut short due to an unfortunate injury. US Open champion Sloane Stephen is still going strong while her compatriot Madison Keys has set up a rematch of the US Open final. Here are the results from the French Open.

    Djokovic suffers a shock defeat

12-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic faced yet another heartbreak. The former world number one Djokovic went down against unknown Marco Cecchinato in the French Open quarter-finals. 72 ranked Cecchinato beat the Serbian 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 7-6 (13-11). The Italian will face Dominic Thiem in the semi-finals of the clay-court major.

    Thiem ousts injured Zverev

Austrian Dominic Thiem reached the French Open semi-finals for the third successive time after clinching a comfortable straight-set victory over Alexander Zverev. Zverev was struggling with a hamstring injury, through out the match. Thiem beat the 21-year-old German 6-4, 6-2, 6-1 as Zverev needed treatment midway through the second set. Thiem could threaten Nadal's dominance on clay.

Stephens sails through into the semi-finals

US Open champion Sloane Stephens continued her fine run of form to make it through to the semi-finals of the French Open. The 25-year-old beat world number 14 Daria Kasatkina 6-3, 6-1 at the Court Philippe Chatrier to sail through into the next round. Stephens next faces compatriot Madison Keys in the semi-final.

Keys sets up Stephens semi-final clash

American Madison Keys, who reached the final of the US Open, has set up a semi-final clash against compatriot Sloane Stephen. She defeated unseeded Yulia Putintseva 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in the French Open quarter-finals. 13th seed Madison Keys is in fine form at Pairs and is yet to drop a set at Roland Garros.
