    An unusual record for Australia

The Australian cricket team equalled the record of six batsmen getting out bowled in a T20 innings, losing David Warner, Aaron Finch, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Tim Paine and Nathan Coulter-Nile in the same fashion. There are four other instances of the same in T20 internationals. Aaron Finch remained the highest scorer for the visitors, adding crucial 42 runs for the team.

Yuzvendra Chahal picked up the wicket of Glenn Maxwell for the fifth consecutive time. He had earlier dismissed Maxwell once in the 2017 Indian Premier League and thrice in the recently concluded ODI series.

An easy chase for the Indian team

India chased the target of 48 runs with three balls to spare. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave a firing start, before Sharma was sent back in the second over by Nathan Coulter-Nile. Virat Kohli (22*) stepped in at number three and partnered with Dhawan (15*) to lead India to victory in the first T20 match.
