    Women's Hockey World Cup: Rani Rampal to lead 18-member team

    The Indian women's hockey team has been announced and experienced forward Rani Rampal will lead the side for the upcoming 2018 World Cup. Indian eves will want to come out strong and the first task will be to progress to the knock-outs. The tournament will be held in England from July 21 to August 5. Here is more on the same.

    India placed in Pool B

    The Indians have been placed in Pool B, which is a tough group. The group has world number two England, besides USA and Ireland. It will be key for the players to bring forward their best game and give a tough fight to the other teams. India start their campaign against England on July 21, followed by a tie against Ireland on July 26.

    The 18-member squad of Indian women's team

    Here is the Indian women's squad for the upcoming Hockey World Cup in England. Goalkeepers: Savita (vice-captain), Rajani Etimarpu Defenders: Sunita Lakra, Deep Grace Ekka, Deepika, Gurjit Kaur, Reena Khokhar Mid-fielders: Namita Toppo, Lilima Minz, Monika, Neha Goyal, Navjot Kaur, Nikki Pradhan Forwards: Rani Rampal (captain), Vandana Katariya. Navneet Kaur, Lalremsiami, Udita.

    Team has the right mix, feels coach Marijne

    Indian women's team coach Marijne stated that it wasn't an easy decision to pick 18 players as the core probable worked hard in the national camp. Marijne also added that the team which he has selected is the best to compete in the coveted tournament.
