    What's the story

The 18th Asian Games saw the Indian contingent register their first win when the Indian Women's Kabaddi team defeated their Japanese counterparts with a margin of 43-12.

If they keep up their performance, the Women's Kabaddi team might end up with a hat-trick of gold medals at the quadrennial multi-sport event.

    Here is the match report.

    Match details

    How did the match go?

The Indian women, from the start, were markedly the better side, and dominated the Japanese with ease.

The first all-out of the match was inflicted on the Japanese before the half-time with the Indian team leading by 19-8.

The Japanese were clearly out of their depths in the entire encounter, and even though their defense was good, their raiders were quite toothless.

    Tejaswini Bai

    India's coach leading by example

The coach of the Indian Women's Kabaddi team, Tejaswini Bai, is one of the greatest players India have produced.

She was the captain of the Indian team that won gold in the 2010 Asian Games.

The 31-year-old all-rounder was famous in her prime for scoring bonus points.

Bai repeated the success with Pujari at the Games in South Korea in 2014.
